This is a rare one indeed. Oldsmobile reintroduced America to the front-wheel-drive automobile with its Toronado in 1966. It featured the Rocket 400 motor and an automatic transmission. For the 1968 model year, Olds switched over to the 455 for even more horsepower. The Toronado was not offered with a manual transmission because, according to Oldsmobile's engineers, there was very little loss of power through the transaxle.
