My story
It`s pretty rare that a dog comes to the shelter and IMMEDIATELY wins over absolutely EVERYBODY that she meets - but sweet Butterfly is absolutely that dog. She had a LOT of strikes against her when she first arrived in 2019: severe demodectic mange, heartworms, mammary lumps, secondary skin infections, entropian (as a result of the demodex), raw, swollen feet. Despite all of this - she is the absolute SWEETEST dog that you can imagine. She spent some time recovering in fostercare before she was adopted out. Her adopter had her for over 3 years and she was recently found wandering around loose but he wasn`t interested in reclaiming her. Now, she`s waiting for her retirement home after having been through so much and back at the shelter. Butterfly is of the manatee variety of bullies, mostly she wants to eat, sleep, cuddle and sunbathe. She would do best in a home without small animals and dogs that didn`t feel the need to play with her (she tends to do her own thing and not interact with other dogs). If you are looking for a true sweetheart that just needs some space on the couch, this girl is sure to fit the profile!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt BUTTERFLY, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
